Embark on a 12-day expedition around Peru’s Cordillera Huayhuash, famed for its jagged peaks, turquoise glacial lakes, and remote Andean villages. This high-altitude circuit pushes you up to 5,000 m, offering unparalleled mountain vistas and an authentic wilderness experience.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Huaraz → Gear check & acclimatization hike.
Day 2: Drive to Cuartelwain (3,900 m) → Short hike and campsite setup.
Day 3: Trek over Cacanan Pass (4,700 m) → Descend to Mitucocha Camp (4,200 m).
Day 4: Cross Carhuac Pass (4,650 m) → Camp beside Carhuacocha Lake.
Day 5: Climb Siula Pass (4,850 m) → Camp at Huayhuash plateau.
Day 6: Portachuelo Pass (4,750 m) → Relax at Viconga hot springs.
Day 7: Summit Cuyoc Pass (5,000 m) → Descend to Huanacpatay Valley.
Day 8: Hike through Huayllapa village to Huatiac Camp.
Day 9: Tapush Pass (4,750 m) → Camp at Gashpapampa.
Day 10: Yaucha Pass (4,850 m) → Camp at Jahuacocha Lake.
Day 11: Optional day-hike to Rondoy viewpoint → Return camp.
Day 12: Trek to Llamac → Transfer back to Huaraz.
